Every month it seems like he changes so much
but this month was out of control!!
SO many beautiful changes, I can't even catch my breath!

He started the month off by learning how to sit up all by himself!
For some reason, that made him seem so big to me!

The next thing that we noticed was that he knew his name.
Whenever I say Sawyer, he'll stop and look at me.
(Well, almost everytime. He is an 8 month old on his own agenda)

This month has brought all sorts of delicious foods into his life.
He loves fruits!
(Just like his momma)
After trying applesauce last month,
we started this month off with bananas!
(My favorite as a child--and adult)

He really liked em!

Next came pears

He had a lot of fun with those
(His famous smooch face)

Then we tried peaches

He liked them so much that I couldn't feed him fast enough.
He looked like a little baby bird.
So cute!!
(His Grandma Martin gets that same look
when you talk about peaches to her! jk Marm!)

After the fruits, we tried some of the Puff treats
that Grandpa and Grandma Wertz gave him for Easter.
He loved them!
By the end of the month
he could pick them up and feed himself.
Feeding himself already? What is going on?

Most recently we decided to try some oatmeal.

Although it tasted the same as his rice cereal to me,
he was sure excited about it!

This entire month he was chewing on everything like a little pup.
p.s. Worse than Tuya ever did!

After a lot of chewing, even more drooling,
a little less sleep and a little more fussiness,
we found the culprits. . .
A big warm welcome to Sawyer's first 2 teeth.
Also so cute!!

p.s. He's sleeping better again! YAY!
Right after he got his teeth
he started talking like never before.
Dada was one of the first coherent words that he uttered.
Sadly, I don't think that he knows who Dada is yet
but soon he will!

All day I hear dadadada babababa
and a funny mixture of baba and mama.
Much to my disappointment,
no official Mama has been spoken. :)

But what a little talker!

A happy little talker!

The next thing we knew,
he was pulling himself to a standing position!
Crazy kid!

As a matter of fact, one Sunday morning
Lance and I went in to get him and we found this . . .

Man was he pleased with himself!
Let's just say we lowered the crib that day.

It's so fun to see more of his personality shine as he grows.
He's really a little person now and not a baby anymore.
A feisty and trouble making little person that is!
He likes doing crazy little acrobatic moves.
(These usually result in falling)

He enjoys climbing on things.
(This also usually results in falling)

And he's a pro at getting into things he knows he shouldn't.
(This usually results in some sort of head bonking)

Although he is quite the busy bee,
the part of his personality that shines the most
is the happy way he goes about life!

How lucky I am to have such a happy and beautiful child!

Lucky Indeed!!
