March in Utah

What was going on in Utah, you ask?

Our best bud Alex, married his darling Jamie!
We were so excited to be there and share that special day with them!

Sawyer was chasing a bunch of cute little gals at the reception.
He wanted to give them hugs! It was so funny!
We had a fun time!

While in Utah, we spent lots of fun time with Lance's Family.
We had lovely weather and one of those lovely days,
we took Sawyer to the zoo.

He loved the elephants.

He loved the monkeys, the giraffe's, and the big turtle too.

And he even had a heart to heart with a rhino.

It was a fun time at the zoo!

We also met up with our friends the Cutlers at the temple.

These little ones aren't too little anymore!

And we ate fabulous food like Cafe Rio, Spaghetti Factory,
In-N-Out Burger,Maddox, and a delicious turkey dinner
made for us by Lance's Mom. So much good food, so little time!

And that was March in Utah!

18 Months Old!

It has been 18 months since this adorable little man was born!
I'm not exactly sure how that happened.
All I know is that this has been the most wonderful 18 months ever!

How big is our 18 month old?

Weight: 25lbs 13oz (48%)
Height: 33" (77%)
Head Circumference: 49.7cm (92%)

What's new with our 18 month old?

1) He is definitely a little boy! He is obsessed with airplanes! Anytime he hears pretty much any loud noise he makes the sign for plane and says "apane." Yep, It's cute. He can also tell the difference between a car and a truck and loves to play with them.

2) He loves animals and can tell you the noises of a lot of animals.
His most favorite to do is the dog, lion, bear (same roar as lion) and snake.

3) He loves to read books. Reading is the only time I can get him to sit still for more than 5 minutes. His most recent favorite is one that I got him for Valentine's Day called, "I Love You More" by Laura Duksta

4) He is a great sleeper! He goes to bed between 8-8:30PM and gets up between 7:30-8:30AM. He takes one 2-3 hour nap every day after lunch. Thank you son!

5) He's a great eater! His favorite food is string cheese! He also enjoys blueberries, bananas, pears, wheat bread, yogurt, goldfish, pretzels and graham crackers.

6) He loves milk--in a bottle! I cannot get this little guy to drink milk unless I am feeding him from a bottle. He went a week with no milk until I caved. I continue trying to teach him that drinking milk like a big boy is so cool.

7) Instead of Ma, I am now called Mum. It is the cutest thing ever! I love the way his little mouth looks when he says it!

8) He's a fast learner!

It is getting easier and easier to communicate with him. He's talking like crazy and he's picked up on a lot more signs like, Airplane, New, Day, Wind, Cloud, Tree, Flower, Go, Up, Down, Star, Play, Hot, Cold, Me, Dirty, Apple, Pear, Juice, Shoe, Sock, Sleep, Brush Teeth, Blanket, Teddy Bear, Diaper, and Potty.

He knows that the stove is hot and to stay away when Momma is cooking. He'll look up and say and sign, "hot."

He knows how to count to 3 and will sometimes count to 5.

He will fold his arms to pray (this lasts about 15 seconds, but it's a start)

We've also taught him some key things. . .

Lance: "Sawyer, who's the fairest of them all?"
Sawyer: "Mum"

Lance: "Where are you going to take Mom and Dad on vacation?"
Sawyer: "Hawaii."

If he gets a little boo boo we ask: "Are you ok"
Sawyer: "I'm fine."

Me: "Sawyer, does Jesus/Momma/Daddy love you?"
Sawyer: "Yeah!"

Yes, Son. You are right. Learn it now. You are loved!
