Blue Jean Bottom

While on vacation, Sawyer's Aunt Celena gave him the coolest diaper ever!
When we put it on him, I couldn't resist--Photo Shoot!
So I figured that I could showcase these blue jean bottom photos
to share 11 random fun facts about my 11 month old.

1. He has the cutest rolls on his chunky thighs.

2. He has lots of soft curly hair on the back of his head.

3. To him the world is a wonderful place to discover.
He loves to explore and find new treasures.
(Like the leaf in this picture)

4. Unfortunately, those treasures usually end up in his mouth.

5. He's starting to figure out that when we pray,
he's supposed to be reverent.
(That doesn't mean he always is)
He usually gets excited when he hears me say "Amen"
because he knows that means the prayer is over
and food comes next. Terrible huh?

6. He is such a pleasant little man.

7. He's a natural in front of the camera. I mean seriously?

8. He likes to flap his hands around when he gets excited.

9. He is "SO Big."

10. SO full of attitude.

11. And SO cute!

Gerber Baby

I've always known that my son is freakishly adorable.

However, over the past few months multiple people
have told me that he looks a lot like the Gerber Baby.
So I decided to check it out.

Ok, they might be on to something!

Please

Since Sawyer was about 4 months old or so, I've been teaching him a tiny bit of American Sign Language (Thanks to Baby Signing Time for teaching me!).

I'm pretty sure that for awhile now, he's known what a few of them mean like Milk, Eat, More, All Done, and Please. However, he had yet to physically sign anything.

Until now!

Last Tuesday, coincidentally the day he turned 11 months old, I was eating corn for dinner and apparently he wanted some. He looked at me with those big baby blues and I asked him "Can you say please?" (Making the sign myself)
Well apparently he could! He signed "Please!"
I was so excited and even though I thought that it might be a fluke, encouraged him to do it again for another piece of corn. Guess what? He did it! And proceeded to do it six more times.

Since then, he has consistently signed "Please" anytime he wants something. And seeing as he looks so cute rubbing that chubby little hand on his chest, he is unfortunately getting pretty much everything that he wants right now--whether it's food or being picked up. I don't even have to say the word now. I can just say "What do you say?" and he'll do it.

So the purpose of this post is to prevent me from bursting with pride by giving me an outlet to brag about how incredibly intelligent and polite my sweet little boy is!

Strong Work Sawyer Boy! We are soooo proud of you!

Eleven Months Old!

Yep, he is 11 months old--a busy little 11 month old!

Well he's not really little. He's actually "So Big!"
If you ask him how big he is, he'll show you.

As a matter of fact, this is the first month that I've noticed that I'm having quite the time lugging his long, chunky-self around. (His newest nickname is Professor Chunk) Lately, I've been wishing that we had looked into Ranch Style homes--carrying him up those stairs is brutal! :)

Here's Professor Chunk rockin' the double chin!

Believe me, he has earned his new nickname.
Look at everything this boy eats!

(Crust)

He took his first steps a little while ago, but this month he has transitioned from walking to being a "walker." I have found those two to be very different. A baby who's walking takes a few steps, then falls down and crawls to get what he wants. He gets back up again and then repeats the process. However, our little "walker" has pretty much kissed crawling goodbye and evolved into the distinguished two feet approach.

Some people told me that my life was never going to be the same and that I was going to wish that I had never encouraged this new milestone. They were right about one thing. . . my life never will be the same. However, there might be something wrong with me because I have loved every "step" (Oh, I'm so funny) of his great accomplishment.

This is probably because of three reasons. First, he is more stable now that he's a "walker" and not just walking, so there have been less bumps to the head. Secondly, he is so pleased with himself to be walking, that his enthusiasm is infectious. And thirdly, he is just so stinkin' cute as he wobbles around the house.

He loves to read books, and play with toys.
He really likes to play with his new blocks from the Clarke Family.

Please note his drool in this picture.
Did I mention that he has 7 teeth now?
Well he does. He has 4 on top and 3 on the bottom?

He also likes to share his blocks with Tuya.

They love to be together.

Just like 2 peas in a pod.

Sawyer loves Tuya!

And Tuya loves Sawyer!

As sad as it is to see him growing up, it is so fun to see more of his personality shine through. He definitely loves attention and will do pretty much anything to get it. That's probably why he loves pulling funny faces.

He LOVES to pull this face.

I think I might be in trouble when he gets older.

Yep, big trouble!

He's starting to understand when I say, "No" and sometimes he listens!

There are those rare occasions when he's not so pleasant,
but generally he is such a happy child!
We are so lucky!

And he couldn't be cuter!

No. He definitely could not be cuter!
We love you sweet baby!
