5 Months Old!

My baby is 5 months old! 

So 5 months is only 1 month short of 6 months! 

And 6 months is half of a year! 

Ok. I'm kind of making myself a little sick here. 

Anyway, as I was saying...

My baby is 5 months old. Sigh!

This month has been extremely enjoyable! 

I am catching up on my sleep since he still is sleeping 8-9 hours

 every night and taking good naps during the day.

Another thing that has made this month so fun 

is that our little man is always moving!

He loves to be on his tummy!

And he won't stay still in the tubby.
He straightens his legs and lifts his little bum
and would dunk himself if I let him.
Because of this, he is getting harder to bathe.



Luckily, I always have "help."



And he's a happy little duck.

He likes to do a move that his big brother did at this same age.

 I like to call it "the baby burrito." 

He grabs one end of the blanket he is lying on 

and rolls while he holds onto it. 

and voila, my baby burrito! 

So cute!

Another fun move is the "Skydiver."

He lays on his belly and lifts up his hands and feet.

That move makes him happy!

But he doesn't mind!

He's not just drooling though. He's chewing.

I know I'm his Momma so this probably sounds like bragging,

but Reuben is honestly the smiliest (is that a word?) baby ever!

Every now and then we will get an unpleasant face.

But personally I think his grumpy face is quite cute!

And it doesn't usually last long.
Pretty soon he's back to smiling!

He's got a little wild side.

And he makes some funny faces.

But mostly he just smiles.

And bigger smiles.

So naturally, we can't get enough of him!

Tuya loves him.

Sawyer loves him.

Daddy loves him.

 and Momma loves him!

How could we not?!

When the Circus Comes to Town

This Memorial Day we took Sawyer to the Circus!

He's been watching Barney's Super Singing Circus on Netflix

for weeks and was beyond excited to go to the real thing!

We went to the Pre Show to see some animals 

and Sawyer got to dance with the clowns!

While Reuben relaxed with Momma.

Sawyer loved the whole thing even though 

it got pretty loud at the end and he had to cover his ears. 

Even Reuben wanted to watch instead of sleep.

Lance and I were amazed with how much WE enjoyed it!

It truly was The Greatest Show on Earth!

All for a Lollipop

I told Sawyer that if he went poop on the potty he could get a lollipop.
 Well today he wanted that lollipop. And he got it!

He chose brown. Hmmmm.

P.S. This huge milestone was a little traumatic for all of us.
Why? Some dogs eat first time poops right out of the little potty.
And some Mom's FREAK OUT when that happens,
screaming, gagging and yes, freaking out their children
who just pooped in the potty for the first time.

P.P.S. Some children are kind by nature
and when the dog that they love is in time out
in her crate for eating the first time poop
they share their lollipop with the disgusting creature
and then proceed to place the lollipop back into their mouth.
This might cause some Mom's to FREAK OUT yet again,
snatch the lollipop out of the child's mouth,
 throw it in the garbage while gagging again
and send the child to time out.

Not my best parenting moment.

I did apologize and get him another lollipop.
I may be changing poopy diapers for a little while longer.
