Although I love to have a picture with every post, I wanted to just mention a little something here about what Easter means to me.  I have been reading a lot on this topic and watching a Living Scriptures video called "He is Risen" with my Sawyer, and I've felt so close to my Savior this Easter. I really enjoyed teaching Sawyer about the holiday also and was amazed at how much could sink into a two year-old's heart. If you ask him what happened on Good Friday, he'll tell you that "Jesus died for us." If you ask him what happened on Easter Sunday, he'll say, "Jesus was Resurrected."

This year Lance and I and our boys were able to go to church with my parents (my Dad and Stepmom) in the LDS branch by their home. That right there would have made it a very special day. And although the branch was very small, the spirit that I felt there really touched me. I have heard so many wonderful talks, but the two talks shared there were amazing. The first, focused on the Garden of Gethsemane and the importance of what happened there and the second, on the Savior and his Resurrection. It was a truly unforgettable sacrament meeting.

I am so grateful for this holiday. It is truly more than colorful eggs, chocolate bunnies, and family time. (Although I love all of those things.) It is about our Savior and His love for us. It is the most important holiday. President Gordon B. Hinckley once said, "There would be no Christmas, if there was no Easter." If our Savior hadn't loved us enough to suffer and die for us; if He hadn't risen from the tomb as a beautiful and glorified Being; if He hadn't made it possible for us to live again with our Heavenly Father; His birth wouldn't have been such a celebration. Oh, how grateful I am that He was strong enough to do all of those things. I am so grateful to Him. I love Him so much. And I love Easter--the true meaning of Easter.
