10 Months Old

November 1, 2012

Reuben is 10 Months Old!
Didn't he just turn 9 Months Old?

He's had some new foods. And although I stopped
taking pictures of every thing he eats, I couldn't resist
when we gave him some Pasta n Broccoli from my plate.
He was making the funniest expressions!

Putting the Diddelini pasta in his mouth

Here come the funny faces I was talking about...

He started signing "All Done"
when he wants you to stop feeding him.
(His version is a little different than the real thing)

I still don't understand why this little angel
isn't sleeping well for me at night.
I put him to bed awake between 8 and 8:30 and then he wakes up
once or twice at night to feed. I let him cry for a little while
before I go in, but unlike Sawyer did when he was a baby,
Reuben keeps crying on and off FOREVER it seems.
I made it for an hour before, but when he was still crying,
I caved. Once I nurse him, he will go back to sleep and
won't get up until around 8AM so it is soo hard to let him cry.
But at his 9 month appt. the doctor said he
shouldn't be getting up to feed anymore.
I guess I should let him cry it out. Sigh...

He also takes two good 1-2 hour naps during the day.
One around 10AM and the other around 2PM.

Last month, as you know, he was sitting up.

Well he stands now.
I found this when I went to get him
when he awoke from his morning nap.

Unlike Sawyer, who always woke up cooing,
Reuben always wakes up crying. So sad!

So we took a happy picture later that night,
and then lowered the crib!

Reuben is always standing now.
He loves to stand by Sawyer's highchair.

This highchair makes a great obstacle course too.

He likes to stand by the chair in the kitchen.

Which also makes a good chew toy.

Even though he has plenty of chew toys.
(And still has NO TEETH!)

Those teeth must be on their way!

He also likes to stand by Tuya's Ger.

And he likes to stand by the stairs.

He likes to pole dance (kinda disturbing)
and will go up and down on the pole.
Sometimes he gets stuck in the low position.

He started climbing those stairs too.

But his new favorite place to stand is
 by Sawyer's new train table.

He is so lucky that he has such a patient big brother
who lets him "play trains" with him.
You see, he "plays trains" a little differently than some.

He loves his stroller

And he loves his carseat.

And he really loves his thumb.
(Mainly when he's tired.)

He loves his Doggie!

He loves his big brother!

And when Sawyer helps Momma bring him toys and diapers.
But he especially likes it when big brother feeds him!

And he loves his Daddy!

Although he's a little unsure about some of
the hairstyles Daddy gives him.

Somehow he pulls off these weird hairdos.

Cause he's so darn cute!

We love you sweet baby boy!

But you already know that, huh?!

Halloween Festivities

October 31, 2012

We had a lot of fun Halloween activities this year.

CARVING PUMPKINS
Friday October 19, 2012

Scott and Ashley drove here to visit for our annual pumpkin
carving, Hocus Pocus watching, evening tradition.
Since Scott's birthday was October 17th, we made him a cake!

Then we got carving!

We sure love the Johnsons!
Next year, we will head to Cleveland
to keep this terrific tradition alive!

On Saturday we carved our other pumpkin
since we ran out of time on Friday.

The boys cut the top off and scooped out all of the guts.
And then let me carve it. I hadn't carved a pumpkin in a while.
It was so fun. I made the big, bright, smiley one.
I love the tooth on Lance's pumpkin from the previous night.

Our family with our pumpkins.

DANVILLE HALLOWEEN PARADE
Thursday October 25, 2012
Downtown Danville

We were super lucky to sit by a sweet family
who let us squeeze in by them and even let me sit in an extra chair
that they had so that Sawyer could get close to the action.
In addition, they made sure that their kids saved
some candy for Sawyer to pick up.

Reuben was entranced by his first parade.

At first Sawyer wouldn't move an inch away from my lap,
but by the end of the parade he would stand by the curb
and hold his bag out as far as he could.

THE PUMPKIN PALOOZA
Saturday October 27, 2012
Downtown Danville

This event had so many FREE, fun things to do!

They had dressed-up ducks and donkeys to pet and feed.

They had carved pumpkins you could view.

They had pumpkins kids could paint.
(I love his concentration face!)

They had games where you could throw pumpkins.
Bean bag pumpkins...

...and real pumpkins.
Lance was excited to do that one!

You can see his pumpkin flying high in the sky.

Then Sawyer tried it.

But was very disappointed (AKA-Broke into tears)
that his pumpkin didn't go as far as Daddy's did.

But luckily they had pumpkin bowling
for the kiddos to distract him.

He was much better at the bowling!
And much happier!

It was a perfectly pumpkiny palooza!

TRUNK OR TREAT
Saturday October 29, 2012
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

Two cute little Engineers
driving Thomas and Percy.

After some yummy chili and desserts,
we headed out to the parking lot.

Sawyer's buddy Chandler showing him his candy!

Playing in the leaves!

TRICK OR TREAT
Wednesday October 31, 2012

Heading out on All Hallow's Eve.

Somebody was tired.

We just went to see family this year on Halloween,
but between the parade, trunk or treat, and trick or treat,
I'd say we have more than enough treats to get us to Easter!

Reuben's First Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

From my two favorite Engineers!
