Utah Time

July 13, 2013

Utah Trip
July 3rd- 12th

Getting there...

Reuben refused to nap and was therefore
exhausted by our layover in Denver.

So he was pretty spent by the time we finally got to Utah.
Snuggling Grandpa.

Thirty seconds in the car seat and he was out!

While in Utah we celebrated the Fourth of July!

We spent a lot of time in the backyard with the slip-n-slide!

We also had a lot of fun spending time with family!
The boys especially loved story time with Grandpa.

Aunt Kristen and Porter came from California
to spend some time with us!

The boys had fun playing with Daddy's old toys,
the dogs, and the dogs toys at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

We took the boys to play at local parks.

We ate yummy dinners at the house and went out to eat
at a few of our favorite Utah places like Cafe Rio
and The Old Spaghetti Factory.

We had a really fun reunion
with our friends from medical school!

The once medical students.

And their gorgeous and supportive wives.
(Love these girls!)

Sawyer and his new buddy Lincoln.

The Pierson's weren't able to make it to the reunion
so I met up with Meagan a little later during the week.
We played at a local splash pad and then headed back
to the Wood home for lunch and a little slip-n-slide!
It was great to see her and her adorable kiddos!

We were able to meet up with my girls from college
and their families to celebrate Stephie's engagement.

Rock...yum!

Caught!

Our boys with Chris and Tarina's girls!
( I love all of their faces)

Love these girls so much!
(And those that were missing)

We took the boys fishing for the first time
at a fish farm in Ogden.

Daddy helped Sawyer catch the first one.

Strong work son!

And Grandpa helped Reuben to catch the next one.

Wahoo!

Now what to do with the two fish that we had to keep...

It was sooo fun!

It was fun to have so much time with Dad.

And spend time with this family that we love!

Getting home...

We had an early flight, but the boys once again refused to nap.
Despite this, they were perfect and happy little boys
on the short flight to Denver.

Within about 3 minutes of stroller riding...

Because we had a massive layover in Denver,
I called another one of my college girls who lives in Colorado
and her, her hubby and their darling little one
met up with us for lunch and a treat!
We had a great time!!

Sawyer and Addison really hit it off!

Love this family!

Love this girl!

After we boarded our flight
this cute pilot got us back to Harrisburg.
(Just kidding!)

What a memorable adventure!

The Preserve

July 2, 2013

Back in June, the boys and I went to the Montour Preserve.
It is such a beautiful place to picnic.
We saw some locals fishing.

While Lance and I prepared dinner, the boys played in the sand.
(This little brother can hold his own.)

Pretty soon the clouds got pretty dark.
Well it rained on us and our tinfoil dinners,
which made for crunchy potatoes and carrots.
But it was warm and the boys had their raincoats
so we still had loads of fun!
After a brief downpour it stopped raining and became
an enchanting and memorable night.

So strong!

Crazy Monkeys!

Love these boys so much!

Expert rock skipper.
(Not to mention, hottest rock skipper)

Yes, it really was a perfect night.

18 Months Old!

July 1, 2013

Reuben is 18 Months Old!

Weight- 23.2 lbs (39%)
Height- 19 3/4 in. (86%)

We just love this little man!
He's super laid-back
and is always smiling!

He loves to do things to make us smile.
Although that rarely involves speaking.
He says a few choice words like Momma, Dad, Milk, Please,
Thank you, Shoes, Hat, and Baby and that's about all I think.
But he's really good at imitating noises that we make.

Much like his elder brother,
he's a super good traveler and loves his carseat.

He sleeps pretty well at night
(Goes to bed between 8-8:30 and gets up between 7-8)
and still takes a morning and afternoon nap.

He has a lot of nicknames
(Mainly from Dad)
like Reu, Reuster, Reust, Stinky McGee,
and Reuberry because of his serious love for blueberries.
(This picture was after eating a blueberry smoothie.)

He's a pretty good eater, but his favorites are fruits,
 like blueberries, watermelon, and cantaloupe.
He also likes whole wheat bread, cheese and treats.

His also loves MILK!
This boy LOVES his milk in his sippy cup!!

He's very obedient and will do his best to follow instructions
like "Come to Momma" or "It's tubby time."

This doesn't mean he doesn't know how to cause trouble.
He definitely keeps me on my toes.
He does his fair share of climbing.

And he definitely gets into things.
Like the time that he dumped out an entire container of canola oil
at Grandma and Grandpa Martin's house.

And he's learned to toilet-paper the bathrooms.

But he's too cute to get into trouble!

He has a serious obsession with shoes!
The first thing that he does every morning is go to the closet,
find his shoes and put them on.
Then he will match up shoes
and line them up on our kitchen floor.
Kinda quirky, but cute!

He loves to play peek-a-boo.

He LOVES to read books!
He never even tears paper books.
He will study each page intently and then after a while
turn the page, like he's actually reading it.
He also loves his doggie!

He's very tender and soft as he plays with Sawyer's Baby.
He will whisper "baby" and snuggle and kiss him.

He loves his thumb more than pretty much anything.

His trademark is left thumb in his mouth
and right hand in his hair.

He is a big snuggler,
and saves his best snuggles for his Momma.
(Which Momma LOVES!!)

He's a pretty serious Momma's boy!

But he still loves to hang out with his Dad!

I love this picture.

But his very favorite thing to do is be
with his big brother Sawyer!

Sawyer just adores him!

 We all do!
What a wonderful 18 months it has been!

Time for a Bedtime snack.
Sorry son, no cookie.

But you can have a Fig Newton.
Fig Newton's are fruit and cake!
(Said in a British accent)

Simply Delicious!
