I am a little behind in my posting,
but here is a little of what we were up to
during our Utah Days (June 9-June 19).

Although our airline was awful ( Us Airways)
and told me that I didn't have a seat
on the plane when we arrived at the airport,
they were able to get me on the plane (whew!)
and we headed west.
Sawyer was more active on this flight as a 9 month old
than he was as a 3 month old the last time we flew.
However, after marveling at the sky out his window,
standing on the tray in front of Lance to peer in front of him,
and talking as loudly as he could to everyone that he saw,
he finally took a little nap on Momma.

He was wearing a Gerber baby bib on the plane and I think
at least 10 people told me that he looked just like the Gerber baby.
People were so nice to us.

What did we do while in Utah?
We reunited with family.
Sawyer took some baths in a sink.
We cheered on the Celtics as they lost in the NBA Finals to the Lakers.
(BOO! HISS!)
We watched Daddy play a little ball himself.
We went to a copper mine.
How cool is that?!
We went to eat at our favorite restaurant, The Old Spaghetti Factory.
Sunday we got dressed up and drove to Temple Square for a Garden Tour.
Since it was a bit cold and rainy we just got pictures in front of the temple
and then Brittney, Sawyer and I headed to the car
instead of braving the cold. We stayed warm had fun chatting.
We got to see Grandma and Grandpa Egbert.
We had hot fudge with Doug's side of the family.
Sawyer almost ate some. I'm very careful when I eat around him now.
We had a nice visit with one of our best buds, Alex.
Got to see our friend Steven and his darling little daughter, Jill.
And then we visited with some more friends.
Chris, Tarina and Katers were there.
Bryan and Shellie brought their bitty baby gals,
and sweet Melanie came to play too!
Sawyer sure missed his buddy Kate.
We took in the beauty of a rainbow.
After all that fun stuff, we went with Lance's parents to St. George, UT.
What did we do in St. George?
We stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's beautiful house!

We saw desert creatures like a lizard. . .
. . . and a scorpion!!
Dude they're freaky! Luckily it was dead.
We went to a yummy Mexican Restaurant where Sawyer
drank out of a straw for the first time.
The next day Lance and I got up early and began our Marathon Date Day.
First we went up to Snow Canyon and went on a hike.
Here I am touching lava--well lava rock.
We had a great time!

Then we came home from our hike and took the little man
swimming for the FIRST TIME!
He looked so cute in the little Swimmers.
His swimming suit is pretty darn cute too!

Although the water was warm and we had the pool all to ourselves,
he didn't like swimming very much. Cute little wimp!
After our swim, we got showered and went out on the town.
Lance's parents dropped us off for our date at the temple.
We had such a special time there.
Then we went back to the house, got changed, kissed Sawyer goodnight
and left to go to see Tarzan at the Tuacahn.
The wind was blowing so hard that they started 30 minutes late
and even came close to canceling the show. Luckily for us, they didn't.
It was amazing! The set, the acting, the vocals--superb!
I actually just saw the movie Tarzan for the first time this year,
shortly after we adopted our sweet Sawyer Boy.
Because of this, the adoption story in Tarzan touches me so deeply
and I can't listen to the song "You'll Be In My Heart" without crying.
Thank you Tuacahn for a great ending to a great marathon date day!
And a bigger thank you to Sawyer's Grandma and Grandpa Wood
who took great care of him while his Momma and Daddy had "date day."
This was the longest that I had ever been away from my little man.
But he and I both survived! Go figure!
We went back to Layton the next day and spent the rest of the vacation
soaking up as much time with our family as possible.
In my opinion, Utah and PA are way too far apart!
And that's what we did in Utah!
