Surprise!

30! Lance is 30 years old!

In honor of this milestone of birthdays, I decided to throw him a surprise birthday party with all of my family. I never thought that I'd be able to keep it a secret, because if he asked me about it, I'm literally the worst liar in the entire world. Lucky for me, he didn't ask, and we were able to pull it off.

I made a carrot cake (Lance's favorite) and banana bread (a tradition that was started when we were just dating). I knew he wouldn't be suspicious if I made those, but seeing as it was a surprise party, I couldn't make any more of the food. Luckily, Marme and Kris took care of that. Thank you Ladies! Other people brought little additions and we had quite a feast! Thanks everyone!

So before we left for church I sneakily hid our house key outside for Kris, and we were on our way. When we arrived home hours later, Lance walked in the door and "Surprise!"

I decided to put 30 candles on the cake.
One for every year that this amazing man has been alive.
Brent helped me light them since there were so many.
He burned himself a couple times but kept on going.
That's dedication! Thanks Brent!

Does this look like a fire hazard to anyone? JK Sweetie!
P.S. He blew all 30 out at once. Impressive, huh?

Don't worry Lancey. With that baby face you'll never look old.

Just Ducky in the Tubby

Here's the Tubby. . .

Sawyer's First time in the tubby!!
(Thanks to our Fam for getting this fun tub for him)

Picture #1- Sawyer is a little confused as to what is going on.

Picture #2- Sawyer realizing that the tubby isn't so bad.

Picture #3- Sawyer loving his tubby!

Here's the Ducky. . .

I have been known to sing him a certain song in the tub that goes like this
(sung to the tune of Rubber Ducky)

Little Ducky, you're our son.
You make our lives so much fun.
Little Ducky, we're totally in love with you.
ooh ooh ooh ooh
Little Ducky, you're so sweet.
You make each day such a treat.
Little Ducky, forever we'll be with you!

The Welcome is Official!

My sister threw a "Welcome Baby Sawyer Party" this past Saturday. It was so great to have everyone get together and give our little man such a fun party! Sawyer keeps telling me over and over how much he appreciated everything. . . well technically it's more like a ooh ahh ahh, but I know what he means because I feel the same way. We are all so grateful to everyone who loves us and who goes out of their way to show us how much they do. We love you all too!!!

Having Fun!

Gift opening time. . . check out this crowd in anticipation!

Sawyer's mean parents opening all of his presents!

Thank you!

Two Months Old Already!

I can't believe that our little Sawyer Boy is two months old today!

Weight- 11 lbs 13.6 oz (63%)
Height- 22 3/6" (58%)
Head Circumference- 40 cm (50%)

After getting an amazing 8 hours of sleep (am I spoiled or what?!), I went into Sawyer's room this morning to wake him up, only to find my sweet little son lying pleasantly in his crib wide awake! I smiled at him and told him good morning and he responded by flashing me an adorably huge smile. Even though he's been doing this for the past two weeks or so, it still melts my heart every time! I still get teary-eyed from time to time thinking of how lucky I am.

Someone once said that smiling is contagious. I couldn't agree more. I dare you not to smile when you see these toothless grins!

Okay. That's enough of those. My face is starting to hurt from smiling so much! Although he doesn't smile all of the time I happen to think that his sad face is quite cute too.
Have a look. . .

I even love his grouchy face!

Just last week he found his tongue. What a terrific toy! Entertainment for him and us!

Along with all of these new facial expressions came more changes. He went to church for the first time on Sunday (his Mommy and Daddy were sticklers about the 8 week thing), he's talking more than ever, he's following me closely with his eyes, and he's even lifting his head a little higher than before.

He's now allowed to get kisses from his big Sis (not on his hands or mouth).

He's enjoying snuggling Mommy in his baby carrier.

And he's still enjoying his Daddy time.
(Who wouldn't when your Dad's that cute?)

Man, do I love my boys!
Yes. It's been a magnificent month!
