Amish Ice Cream-A Recipe for Disaster

Grandma and Grandpa Egbert came to visit the East and do some sight-seeing.
Lucky for us, Hershey was on the list of places to see. Yay!
So last Wednesday, we met Grandma and Grandpa and Lance's Aunt Jan and Uncle Alan at their hotel. Then they took us to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. We left them that night, excited to meet up with them the following night.
Well, I heard from Jan earlier than I expected, and when I talked to her she said that they were in PA Dutch country eating some Amish Ice Cream when Grandpa leaned on a fence (that was apparently a gate) and it swung open revealing 4 cement stairs and a stone wall. Grandpa fell down backwards and hit his head on the stone wall!
I called Lance right away and we met them in the hospital. Two X-ray's, a CAT-scan, and three hours later, we were told that Grandpa was in good shape. What a relief!!
Although our time in the ED wasn't all that pleasant, we were lucky enough to have a therapy dog, a Pekingese named Foo Man Chew, come to visit us. He sat like a human. It was definitely therapeutic for all of us.

Since Grandpa was feeling better, we went to The Hershey Pantry to celebrate! The food was fabulous and the company was even better!

So everyone remember that although Amish Ice Cream is some of the best stuff out there, it can be dangerous! :)
Thanks for coming to visit us Grandpa, Grandma and Jan and Alan. We love you!
