and my husband is a physician who happens to have those available

 we have a houseguest for the month of June!

We Are...Penn State!

On Friday Lance and his brother who lives in Virginia 

were texting about the Penn State/Michigan game 

on Saturday and at about 7PM Lance says to me, 

"I found tickets on Craigslist for the game tomorrow. Should we go?"

After confirming my Marm and Mike could come up

 the next day to watch the boys, we decided to go for it. 

Jonny and Emery drove up that morning and got here just in time.

The game started at 4 and it was a perfect sunny day in the 70's. 

It was an amazing game with 4 overtimes!

And WE WON!

And we got to share it with two of our favorite people!

Yeah State!

Wood Uncles

August 20, 2012

August brought 2 special Woods to our neck of the woods. 

WOOD UNCLE #1

The first weekend of the month, Lance's brother Taylor, 

who was doing an internship with the Romney

 campaign in Boston, took a bus to come see us!

We took him to a coal mine in Ashland, PA. 

There we went on the bumpiest and loudest train ever!

Do you like the engineer hats we bought them there?

(You'll be seeing those again soon!)

Taylor loves to fluff Reuben's hair!

Then we actually went down into a coal mine. 

It was really cool.

And a bit cold!

So Uncle Taylor kept Reuben inside his jacket. 

Then the boys played on the playground while I fed Reuben. 

On our way home, we stopped at Knoebels 

to get some pierogies and tri-taters for dinner. 

The tie die twins! A pretty weird coincidence! 

(Since we're not in the 70's or 80's anymore) 

Sunday, we went to church, came home, had cinnamon rolls, 

took naps, and then had dinner and hot fudge for dessert.

Then we just had a fun relaxing evening with Uncle Tay since he

 had to catch the bus early the next morning to head back to Boston.  

Reu really bonded with Uncle Taylor.

I think the feeling was mutual.

He was so mad that Tay was leaving that he socked him one!

Sawyer thought it was hilarious!

(This just looks vicious. It wasn't really.)

It was so fun to see him! 

We love Uncle Taylor!

WOOD UNCLE #2

Two weeks later, Lance's brother Jonathan came out 

to volunteer as a counselor at Camp Horizon, a week-long camp for 

youth with difficult dermatologic conditions. We were pretty 

thrilled that the camp was only about 20 minutes away from us. 

Since the counselors had a break on Wednesday afternoon, 

the boys and I went to get him and bring him back to the house

 for a bit in hopes that Lance would get off work and be able to see him.

Luckily, Lance got home early and got to drive him back with us. 

Here's a picture from the visit that day. 

Then Thursday, the entire camp got to go to Knoebels for the day. 

Since Geisinger dermatologists run the camp, Lance's attending, 

Dr. Vic Marks, let Lance leave early so that we could visit 

with Jonny at the amusement park.

He still loves trains though!

It was so fun to spend a couple unexpected hours 

at the park with Uncle Jonny!

Then we picked him up when the camp ended on Saturday 

and brought him home while we got ready for the day.

Next, we headed to Penn's Cave up near State College.

I know that I'd been to Penn's Cave when I was young,

but it was definitely worth the trip--really cool!

They even turned on some fun colored lights.

After Penn's Cave, we headed to the Penn State Creamery 

for a yummy cold treat before heading home!

Sunday, we went to church, came home, had cinnamon rolls, 

took naps, ate dinner and had hot fudge for dessert. 

(Sound familiar?)

Then we went outside and played in the field. 

It was a beautiful night. 

We enjoyed our last evening with Uncle Jonny because

the boys and I had to drive him to the airport today. 

Who has crazier hair?!

It was so fun to see him and so sad to see him go!

We love Uncle Jonny!

Now we are waiting for Lance's other brother, Sean, 

to complete this "Wood Uncle Tour" and grace us with his presence. 

Gotta love the Wood Uncles!!
