Double Date in NYC

We were lucky enough to have Lance's brother Jonathan
and his cute wife Emery, come visit us for a week the end of August.

As a matter of fact, I picked Lance, Jonny and Emery up
at the airport on the 20th since Lance's flight coming home
from his Colorado rotation was delayed a day. (Boo hiss United!)

We had such a fun time with them. In addition to going to
Amish Country and seeing the Hershey sites, we let Sawyer stay
with Grandma Martin for a night and we pulled an over-nighter in NYC!

We went to see the Phantom of the Opera that evening.
I had seen it there in High School, but it was wonderful to see it again.
That music is pretty hard to beat!

And you have to see Times Square!

The next morning we went to see the Statue of Liberty.
I grew up in PA and had never been there.

She was amazing and it gave me chills thinking
about the immigrants feelings when they saw her
standing there in the Harbor. I heart the USA!

And I heart New York City!
Let me clarify. . . I heart visiting New York City!

After that we decided to head home because of Hurricane Irene
heading up the coast. We were glad that we did because only a few hours
after we left, they ordered people to evacuate the City. Crazy!

Although, Jonny and Emery had to endure the abnormal East Coast
Natural disasters (earthquake, tornado threats, and a hurricane)
we are so glad they came out. Hopefully it was a memorable trip!
