12 Months Old!
January 1, 2013
My Baby Reuben is ONE Year Old!!
One Year Stats:
Weight: 20.8 lbs (38%)
Length: 30 1/2 in (65%)
HC: 46.5 cm (53%)
He sure got long!
What's new with our 1 year old?
He's sleeping a little better.
The day before his birthday
he finally got his first tooth!

This was very exciting for everyone!
Don't mind the bread in his mouth in this picture!

Speaking of bread...this kid loves to eat whole wheat bread!
As a matter of fact, this kid loves to eat everything!
Don't you Reuben?

He loves cars and trains and anything boyish!
He started going "broom" when he plays with the cars.
It's too cute!

And he is getting busier by the minute.
Always climbing on things.
(Daddy helped him climb on this)

And climbing into things.
(Not helped by Daddy, but carried by him)

"Wonder what I could pull out of here?"

"Maybe I'll just grab a pot out of here."
(He's not walking on his own yet, but he likes to hold on
to things to stand up and walk with--even his brother!)
He's sleeping a little better.
He takes two naps a day.
Morning nap from about 10-12.
Afternoon nap from about 3-5.
Then he goes to bed between 8-8:30PM and will sleep
until around 6AM and if I nurse him
he will go back to sleep until around 8ish.
Not a natural sleeper like his big brother, but not too bad.

"I'll need some noodles for my pot."
(This is his funny face he makes a lot.)
He can be serious every now and then.

And even a little crazy!
But he's such a pleasant, easy-going little guy.
He smiles about 99% of the day.

Maybe that's why we are all so crazy in love with him!
Yes, this little one year-old...
...is sure loved A LOT!!
Thank you for coming to our family Reuben!
This last year has been a dream!
We love you sooooooooo much!

Our Baby the Birthday Boy
January 1, 2013
Happy Birthday Reuben!!!
Our sweet little prince turned one today,
which makes this his Golden Birthday!
Quite ironic that both he and Sawyer celebrated
their Golden Birthdays the same year, don't you think?!
(Reu turning 1 on the 1st and Sawy turning 3 on the 3rd)
Anyway, back to our little man!
Good Morning Birthday Boy!
Nice bed-head!
We let him wear his crown for the day.
He even posed for some birthday pictures.

But enough was enough.
So we let him roam free in his birthday suit.
(plus a diaper)
And fed him the practice cake.
His first bite of icing.
"You guys have been holding out on me!"
"I love you cake. I'm going to eat you!"
And the first bite of cake.
He caught on quickly!
"Yum!"
What a cute cake-covered kid!
Oh no! Not the crown!
Love this face!
Do you want some more cake
at your party this weekend Reuben?
Happy Birthday Angel.
We just adore you!
Oh, and Happy New Year!

Christmas Festivities
December 30, 2012

Just to make sure he's been good...
Meet Tad! (Named by Sawyer)
We went to see Santa after we picked up Jonny

Jonny found the perfect tree!

And Lance got to work sawing it down.

He had a helper!

Reu-dolph!
Get it? Red nose?

We went on a Christmas Train with Uncle Jonny
and Grandma and Grandma Martin

Then Santa walked through our car!

Sawyer was excited!
Can you tell?

Reuben, however, wasn't as impressed!

However, he didn't mind Rudolph.

Or the Grinch.

Or Frosty the Snowman.

Sawyer loved them all!
(I love my Marm's face in this picture)

That night we decorated our tree.

Our Little Family had our own little Christmas.
(December 14th-15th)

The stockings were hung on the curtains
(and door) with care.

The next morning.

I think Sawyer was most excited about the big
Hershey's Kiss Santa brought him!

Tuya got her stocking presents and a new bed.

She looks cute on her new bed!

My presents always have the most fun things written on them!
My "Santa" is so creative...and cute!!

Sawyer had asked Santa for SNOW!
Which is great unless it doesn't snow.
So "Santa" brought him this!

So we made some snow to play with.

S is for Snow and Sawyer!

I sang in church the following day
so our friends from Hershey came up to visit.

We sure love the Clements!

They are a lot of fun!
(I love that even Reu is making a silly face)

We spent the remainder of the month celebrating in Utah.
(December 19th-29th)
We got to visit Santa again!
This was my favorite Santa ever!

He must be the real one! :)

We got a ginormous Christmas Tree!

It kind of reminded me of a Dr. Seuss book because
it was tall, skinny and tilted a little to the right.

We made Wood Family Christmas cookies.
We ate at yummy places like Cafe Rio, The Mandarin,
and our favorite, The Old Spaghetti Factory.
My Little Santa
has been nice this year!
HO HO HO!
Just to make sure he's been good...
Meet Tad! (Named by Sawyer)
This was Sawyer's favorite Christmas movie this year!
He especially loved to sing and dance
to the song "Extravaganzalorias!"
Uncle Jonny's Visit
helped kick off our Christmas Celebrations
(November 30 - December 3)
We went to see Santa after we picked up Jonny
at PSUCOM in Hershey after his Med School interview.
We chopped down our Christmas Tree.
(Well more like sawed down)
Jonny found the perfect tree!

We made Wood Family Christmas cookies.
Uncle Sean helped Sawyer make his very own cookie.
He was pretty pleased.
Until he took a bite.
I think the anise in the frosting is an acquired taste.
But Daddy sure likes them!
Sawyer became obsessed with the the song
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
(He knows every word) and got to
perform it at the Egbert Family Christmas Party.
We got to visit our friends the Cutlers and their cute little gals!
(Sadly, the picture of Tarina and I didn't come out)
We ate at yummy places like Cafe Rio, The Mandarin,
and our favorite, The Old Spaghetti Factory.
We went Downtown.
And went to Temple Square to see the Salt Lake Temple.
The boys had fun taking tubby's together!
And Daddy was there almost every night to help me!
It was great!
Sawyer got to Build a Bear (Husky) with Grandma.
And got to read The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
with Grandpa. Over and over and over...
Gotta love Grandparents!
Doug and Cary with their 3 Grandkids.
(Porter, Sawyer, and Reuben)
It was so fun just to be able to spend time
with family that we rarely see.
Christmas Morning came.
And we got lots of fun presents.
And Sawyer got his wish!
He got to play in the REAL snow!
Lance and I snuck away on our 9 Year anniversary!
after we put our boys to bed so we could go to the temple.

I love him so much!

Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Have a Happy New Year!
